A relaxing morning waking up in Wadi Rum. Yes, we are next to the camel pen and I honestly thought we were in for a rough night with them grunting or smelling lol but actually did not hear a peep out of them, but the guard dog on the other hand was very vocal. He is actually a sweet dog with a a white coat and black dots, pleasantly comes to you for a sniff and sits by your feet, but he can bark and loves to chase the 4×4 trucks.
The Rum Planet camp has clean and hot showers so a shower this morning was heaven. We have the shower and hot water but using someone else’s make just that little difference to the morning shower.
Then I was planning on making porridge for breakfast, but we popped inside and ended up sitting with the other guests tucking into an Arabic Breakfast, thank you very much! Do not mind if I do!
We sit and chill in the morning sun and are treated to a majestic camel train passing by and we catch up on some admin. We relax and it makes such a difference being able to not push on somewhere, this is a must in the future to slow the adventure and journey down.
We drive over to the Visitors Centre and have ice cream, before once again chilling and watching the sun set. We did not go into the main part of the park. Though we had left the trailer at Planet Rum and just had Bruce the Jeep, we decide to leave that for another time and head back. The geology and nature of this place subsumes you and we relax to watch the sun set. We are finely relaxing and good job as this is our wedding anniversary too!
