Expedition247
The Greatest Adventure!
OBJECTIVE
247 Overland will undertake a major global expedition and the longest overland journey, circumnavigating the world and attempting to break two world records.
AIM
During the journey we aim to visit not just as many of the 195 United Nations (UN) recognised countries in the world today (comprising of 193 Member States and 2 non-member observer states: the Holy See and the State of Palestine),
but we intend to visit as close to of the 329 countries including their Dependencies (a dependent territory or dependent area), Areas of Special Sovereignty (autonomous territories), islands, represented countries and free associations, where possible.
MISSION
– Complete the overland journey by car in our trusted Jeep ‘Bruce’ with ‘Rambler’ Trailer in tow
(except for the requirement to ship or airlift our vehicle direct from one point to another due to no direct road access being available)
– Undertaking this journey in the same vehicle, throughout and only countries visited by ‘Bruce’ (wheels on the ground)
and us (feet on the ground) will count as a visit
– Complete a continuous journey starting and finishing at the same point on earth,
which will be the city of Dubai, in the UAE
– Not stopping for more than 14 days in a single spot and never backtracking the same route
– Complete this journey in 3 to 5 years
